Why lenders do not accept fair offers in a Short Sale situation?

This is true, I have had several experiences as a Realtor where personnel from Loss Mitigation does not want to accept fair offers?  why they do that?   I have several strong reasons that I believe what they do that:

1) Personnel who works for the lenders do not care if you lose a house or you lose a fair transaction, they still get payed because they earn by salary.
2) They could have some connections with listing agents who sell REO’s (Real Estate Owned), Repos or Bank Owned Homes whatever you want to call them.
 
The bad thing is that many Loss Mitigation supervisors and Managers do not do their work too, because they should be monitoring these kind of transactions and look for the best interests of the entity where the’re are working for, also lenders lose more money and time, the home can be vandalized than whether is sold for a fair amount.

And yes  Washington Mutual was in my opinion the worst lender ever overall.

What is a HUD Home?

How are HUD Homes Sold
HUD homes are listed on the local Multiple Listing Service (MLS) and or on the internet. Registered brokers and agents may place bids electronically on these properties on behalf of a purchaser. The bid with the highest acceptable net to HUD is selected as the provisional winner subject to timely receipt of all required documents.

Only HUD registered Brokers can show or place offers on HUD properties with the exception of some special programs.
